At Van Woudenberg Tuinplanten, we are involved in the project \u2018From Cultivation to Garden\u2019, in which we work together with partners
\non a more sustainable way of growing lavender.
\nWithin this project, a cultivation protocol is being developed aimed at reducing the use of crop protection products.<\/p>\n
The goal is to create a new type of lavender that is produced in a more conscious and sustainable way, with respect for both the plant
\nand the environment. The protocol is being tested in practice, among others by Delphy, in collaboration with several lavender growers
\nsuch as Van der Salm and LavendelPlus. Cutting supplier Florensis is also involved in the project. Sustainability is ensured through
\nthe MPS-GreenerGrown certification.<\/p>\n
In addition to cultivation, the focus is also on the consumer.
Through pilot sales at Intratuin and targeted in-store communication, awareness of sustainable plants is increased.
\nAttention is also given to the fact that plants grown without chemicals may sometimes look different.<\/p>\n
The project has a broader ambition: to increase the volume of sustainably grown plants and to set an example for the
\nentire ornamental horticulture chain. Depending on the results, the product may become available for pilot sales in the future.<\/p>\n
The project \u2018From Cultivation to Garden\u2019 is co-funded by the European Union and carried out in cooperation with various partners within the sector.
